You really wanna know about us? Okay...

On January 10, 2005, Merrideth Kalil created Seltzer Studios. Just moments after registering the business a thought popped into her head, “Hmmm. What do I do now?” And so she spent the next few years walking the streets of Chicago, peering into the windows of businesses she envied, trying to get a clue. Without realizing it, she began to build the business in her mind. And soon she found herself actually designing and building it for real. Until finally, in 2009 she launched an online home décor, gifts and accessories boutique.

These days she keeps busy with her favorite pastime-turned-business: shopping. Or as she prefers to call it, "surrounding herself with things she finds unique, interesting, functional, well-designed and inspiring." She still wanders the streets of Chicago window shopping. (Along with London and New York these days.) And every time she finds an item or designer that inspires her, she adds them to her online shop so all the good people of the world (or at least the ones with internet access) can surround themselves with inspiration too.

So, yeah, that's us!
